Throwing Off The Hump
Kings Artist Run, Melbourne
08.04.2017 – 29.04.2017
Deriving its title from a labour-efficient potting technique, Throwing Off the Hump is a multi-channel video installation that ruminates on the Sisyphean burden of memory. Using looped cuts of found Super-8 footage salvaged from a technical college in the artist’s hometown, the works serve as an unburdening of grief through repetitive labour, such that the labour and the unburdening become the same act.
